If people were cities

She was the city of sin

Flashing lights, put on a show

Thrive in the attention

Respond only to applause

And boisterous yells mixed

With alcohol, adrenaline, and sex.

Says she wants a lover

But would turn down any

If she could have the world instead

To dote on and admire her

But in the meantime she knew

She would take a stand-in

Just to prove that she could.

And in the morning she was ugly

She was fat not voluptuous

She was annoying not clever

But that did not matter to anyone

Because all knew that her true self

Was the one adorned with neon

In the dry Nevada night sky.
