it is hard to imagine
myself in a wedding dress
I never could
confident femininity
a woman at her best
a picture of perfection
thin arms, small waists
pearly white teeth
who do I think I am
but I start to imagine it
my own version of bride
a dress to wear just once
because I cannot imagine
my life that doesn’t include
a wedding day with you.
